Good site. Too bad it was after homecoming that I clicked on the link from the DelphiForums RaginCajuns forum. I wondered why I quit getting calls about the alumni band! Didn't realize I hadn't kept up my addy. Oops! So I should be back with you guys in the future. Music has stayed a part of my life, more so in the last decade with the church and Kairos ministry with guitar and learning keyboard. Strange how things stay with you! I was one of the six back in 70 that ran into a Mack truck on the way to a ULM football game with the pep band. That messed up my abilities with bassoon and music for a few years. Over the years some ability has come back with clarinet after learning guitar. The one thing I could always do, and always remembered, was the UL fight song. I have enjoyed the few times I was with the alumni band a few years ago. Looking forward to creating some new memories with the band.

HEY GUYS, THE RUMORS OF MY DEMISE ARE FALSE. I AM ONE OF CLOSE TO 3000 SUVIVORS OF HURRICANE KATRINA. I KNOW WE HAVE A FEW ALUMNI BAND MEMBERS OTHER THAN MYSELF WHO WERE IN THE WORST HIT ARES. I AM CURRENTLY IN LAFAYETTE LIVING WITH MY BROTHER'S FAMILY. I WAS LOOKING FOR A JOB UNTIL A FEW HOURS AGO. SO I GUESS MY VACATION FROM REALITY IS COMUNG TO AN END. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY ALUMS WHO LIVED IN MISSISSIPPI (TIM FARNSWORTH IS ONE) AND YOU CAN GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM, PLEASE GIVE THEM MY E-MAIL ADDRESS. I ALSO WANT TO INVITE EVERYONE TO THE PRE-GAME FESTIVITIES FOR HOMECOMING. WE WILL ''PASS A GOOD TIME'' AT REHEARSAL AND BEFORE THE PARADE AT THE ALUMNI CENTER. BRING THE KIDS AND THE DOG EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY. THE KIDS WILL LOVE THE PARADE. THE FEW BRAVE SOULS WHO DARE TO PLAY WILL BE PERFORMING FOR YOU, OUR FELLOW ALUMNI AT THE PARADE AND THE ALUMNI TENT AT CAJUN FIELD. REMEBER THERE IS FREE FOOD AND ''DRINK'' AT THE PARADE AND THE ALUMNI TENT. I'M BEGINNING TO FORGET WHAT SOME OF YOU LOOK LIKE AND ALSO WHAT YOUR NAMES ARE. PLEASE HELP ME TO REMEBER BY ''SHOWING UP'' SATURDAY OCTOBER 29TH. ''SAME BAT CHANNEL, SAME BAT TIME''

would love to hear from any old but goodies band members from the old days of the late 60's - and they were the good old days - I'm still playing flute and piccolo in a regional orchestra - but my favorite conductors will always be Prof Gilfry and Dr. Burke - those were the days, my friends....

Hey wanted to say congrats to this years marching band for making it to the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade this year (2005)!!! Also we should have a message board along with this so that if we have comments we can make em in a specific forum. Just a thought. Can't wait to be back in town so I can come to some of our events. Might just join the marching band again if I really need the cash when I go back to school. Should see you guys again in 2007!! Ciao Ci Vediamo!(If you haven't guessed living in Italy right now. LOL)

I really miss corps style marching. I came from a highly-respected boogie band in New Orleans, and going corps was strange and new. Mr Goodman was fair and demanding. Practice was grueling, and travel was alright, but the friendships were great!!! Bumped into an old drum major, Paul Sahuc on a flight from Chicago to Minneapolis!!! We talked and "reminisced" on old times. I still play(clarinet),and was in the military for while....in the band.... check out the beggining of the movie "The Presidio".........I'm in it.....miss all you guys!!!!

I have been on the Alumni Band Board of Directors for several years now. As everyone should know, the Alumni Band has been rapildy dwindling in size since 1998. Does anyone have a great vision to make it a viable organization again? If you do, please let us know (Please, no excuses, such as "New NCAA rules," or "The University Band has to play a certain number of minutes."). If someone has a creative ('rock the boat' solution, I'd love to hear from you.

I miss doing the Homecoming Game and marching out on the field. It was especially wonderful when we had 13 rifles, all fabulous I might add, right in front, still throwing quads! Is there a chance we may be able to do that again soon? Any guard members out there from my time still willing? Carl Guilbeaux, Allen Dekko, Judy and Sonia Desormeaux, Mary Qualey, Christine Cutrera, Tony Melancon, just to name a few?
