The Alumni Basketball Band will be
performing at three games this season. The dates are as follows:
- Saturday, December 29, 2007 Florida Atlantic (meet @
Cajundome at 6:00 PM)
- Saturday, January 5 , 2008 UNO (womens and mens doubleheader,
meet @ Cajundome at 3:30 PM or 6:00 if you can only make the men's game)
Rehearsals have been scheduled for the following dates:
- Saturday, December 8, 2007, 7:00 - 8:30 PM, Band Room at Angelle
Hall
- Friday, December 14, 2007, 7:00 - 8:30 PM, Alumni House Board Room
Attendance at the rehearsals would be
appreciated, but if you can't make it, please don't let that stop you
from performing with us. We will also run through the tunes
before each game.

The
passing of former UL Director of Bands John Wendell Gilfry on
February 10, 2006 marked the loss of a great music educator who
affected several generations of musicians and music lovers in the
Lafayette area. “Prof” Gilfry was the standard to which all of us who
ever aspired to be band directors tried to measure up. None
of us ever got close to that standard, but we are all better human
beings for trying. You can read more about about John Wendell
