Thanks to all who came out for the
first two Alumni Band basketball game performances! We had a
great turnout at both games and had a lot of fun playing.
We are still scheduled to play for the game this Thursday, January
7. However, due to the college football national championship
game that night, UL has decided to move the game time to 5:00 PM.
We realize that this may mean that some of you who planned to attend
may not be able to make it. That's OK...if you can make it,
please get there as early as you reasonably can (but not before 4:00)
and we will decide at game time whether we will have enough to pull it
off.
If you need an instrument,

We can't guarantee that we'll get you one, but we'll try!

The passing of former UL Director of Bands John
Wendell Gilfry
on
February 10, 2006 marked the loss of a great music educator who
affected several generations of musicians and music lovers in the
Lafayette area. “Prof” Gilfry was the standard to which all of us who
ever aspired to be band directors tried to measure up. None
of us ever got close to that standard, but we are all better human
