The Alumni Band will be hosting a social at Girard
Park on Saturday, July 18, 2009, 1:00 to 5:00 PM. We will have a
BBQ pit, so bring something to throw on the grill. More
information will be posted here as it becomes available.
The passing of former UL Director of Bands John Wendell Gilfry
on
February 10, 2006 marked the loss of a great music educator who
affected several generations of musicians and music lovers in the
Lafayette area. “Prof” Gilfry was the standard to which all of us who
ever aspired to be band directors tried to measure up. None
of us ever got close to that standard, but we are all better human
